Q. Who is required to submit a letter of inquiry?
A. Each grant year is considered separately so that all prospective grantees are required to submit new letters of inquiry each year.

Q. Who selects the grant recipients?
A. The grant recipients are selected by the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Q. What is the range of grant requests that will be considered and how is the amount of the grant determined?
A. The accepted range of grant allocations is between $5,000 and $50,000. Grant amounts are determined based on the available resources of the Foundation and the corresponding merit of each grant applicant.
Q. Does the Foundation support capital campaigns or equipment purchase requests?
A. The Foundation does not generally support requests for capital campaigns or equipment requests.

Q. Does the Genuardi Family Foundation make multi-year grants?
A. The Foundation has made multi-year grants, but on a very limited basis; however, grant applicants are not precluded from applying for additional grants each year.
Non-profits may receive funding in consecutive years, but each annual grant must be applied for separately and will be considered independently.

Q. How are site visits arranged?
A. The Foundation initiates its site visits.  Visits are normally scheduled prior to consideration of a grant application being awarded. The Foundation seeks to experience charitable operations in action, i.e., visits are made to meet the beneficiaries of charitable work, to see services delivered firsthand, and to observe projects or programs specifically funded.

Q. What kind of publicity does the Foundation seek for its grants?
A. Please see our Statement on Publicity
on this web site.
